The HRC and Ministry of Social Development (MSD) have formed a partnership to support innovative research and advance the strategic objectives of both organisations.
The funding partners are seeking to fund high-quality research into innovative approaches for case management services which facilitate enhanced employment outcomes for clients with a health condition or disability. The funding partners are also seeking proposals to conduct a literature review (such as a systematic review or meta-analysis) of approaches that are effective in achieving employment outcomes for people who have a health condition or disability.
A total funding pool of approximately $1.43 million (exclusive of GST) is available for allocation. The funding partners invite applications for funding of up to $475,000 (fully-costed, exclusive of GST) and duration of up to two years.
We anticipate that the contracted projects will begin as soon as practicable, with funding available for an immediate start following notification of outcomes in August 2018. Research proposals should realistically be able to be completed within a 24-month time frame.
If you're the first-named investigator (i.e. lead researcher) on a partnership application, you must be based in New Zealand and employed with a New Zealand host organisation.
Collaborating researchers from outside New Zealand can, at the HRC’s discretion, be included as co-investigators on a HRC partnership contract, however, they can't receive direct funding support for their time or institutional costs.
For more information about our contract requirements, please read the HRC rules document under 'Helpful links'.
If you’re applying for funding through this partnership you’ll need to submit a registration via HRC Gateway. You’ll then need to complete a full application using the 2018 MSD-HRC Research RFP application form and the 2018 MSD-HRC Research RFP budget. Full applications are submitted via HRC Gateway and a hardcopy sent to the HRC.
