The e-ASIA Joint Research Program (JRP) and the HRC are now seeking applications for funding through the e-ASIA JRP. The HRC has $450,000 over three years available for one research project in the field of infectious diseases (including antimicrobial resistance), cancer or mental health.
The e-ASIA JRP initiates and supports multilateral joint research programmes in the East Asian region. It aims to develop a vibrant and collaborative research community in science and technology; promote innovation in the East Asian region; and contribute to the region’s economic development. New Zealand, via the HRC, is a member of the programme. Other members participating in this opportunity include Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Philippines, Russia, Thailand, United States of America, and Vietnam.
All the documentation that you need to apply for this funding opportunity is available below or on the e-ASIA website.
This call asks for proposals focusing on one of three health research areas: infectious diseases (including antimicrobial resistance), cancer or mental health. To be eligible, New Zealand researchers must be involved in a collaboration and involve the participation of at least two other participating e-ASIA members.
The proposed research can be an ‘add on’ to an existing collaborative activity or a new research project.
You should read the application guidelines before preparing an application, including the specific requirements of funding agencies in partner countries.
You’ll then need to register your intention to submit an application to the e-ASIA JRP. Registration must be completed online via HRC Gateway. Following registration, you'll need to submit a full application online via HRC Gateway using the application form prepared by the e-ASIA Secretariat and send a hardcopy to the HRC. The application must also be emailed to the e-ASIA Secretariat.
Please note that full applications will be assessed independently by the HRC and by the agencies in the international collaborators' countries. Also note that the file names below for the application form and application guidelines differ slightly between New Zealand and Asia.
