2024 HRC and Girdlers’ UK Fellowship
This fellowship offers an exciting postdoctoral opportunity for two years’ advanced research experience in the UK at the University of Oxford, with membership at Green Templeton College. Successful applicants will also receive a further year’s support from the HRC on returning to New Zealand following their time at the University of Oxford.

2025 Clinical Practitioner Research Fellowship
This fellowship provides an opportunity for a clinician with a proven track record of research, and who is currently practising and employed by a healthcare organisation, to undertake a programme of research that is relevant to their clinical practice and will enhance clinical care delivery.

2025 Clinical Research Training Fellowship
This fellowship provides an opportunity for medical, dental and allied health professionals to undertake a PhD or equivalent qualification. A non-taxable stipend, university fees, and research expenses are available for up to three years full-time or four years part-time.

2025 Foxley Fellowship
This fellowship provides a salary to enable a health sector professional to undertake a research sabbatical at a tertiary institution. It aims to enhance links between HRC-funded research and health care delivery or health policy. The fellowship is available for up to one year full-time or two years part-time.

2025 Sir Charles Hercus Health Research Fellowship
This advanced postdoctoral fellowship is intended to build New Zealand's future capability to conduct world-class research. Outstanding emerging researchers (six to ten years post-PhD) who are committed to a career in health research in New Zealand, or wish to repatriate to New Zealand, can be supported. Up to $600,000 is available over four years.

2024 Ethics Summer Studentships
Ethics summer studentships provide $7500 for students to research and explore ethical issues facing New Zealand by working on a project under the supervision of an experienced researcher or ethicist over 10 weeks during the summer holidays.

2024 Health Delivery Research Career Development Award 1
The Health Delivery Research Career Development Award is a career development opportunity with a funded placement in a health delivery research team or health sector setting. It is designed as an alternative pathway into health delivery research aimed at attracting more people with relevant skills into this discipline. The award is available to fund salary and salary associated costs of the applicant over a maximum term of 12 months.

2024 Māori Health Research Emerging Leader Fellowship
This fellowship focuses on the development of Māori health research knowledge, with a specific emphasis on equity and social investment that supports improving Māori health. The total value of this fellowship is up to $650,000 over four years.

2024 Pacific Health Research Emerging Leader Fellowship
This fellowship focuses on the development of Pacific health research knowledge, with a specific emphasis on equity and social investment that supports improving Pacific health. The total value of this fellowship is $500,000 over four years.
