These grants are available to provide research funds to support mid-career researchers who have made progress towards being a principal investigator in health research and who have previously held an HRC Sir Charles Hercus Health Research Fellowship (“Hercus Fellowship”) or similar fellowship from another funder. Each award is limited to a maximum of $600,000 for two years.
A mid-career researcher, for the purposes of this funding, has held a Hercus Fellowship, which is limited to applicants with a PhD or an equivalent degree for 6–10 years at the time of application. Based on the term of the Hercus Fellowship of four years, all Consolidator Grant applicants, including those with similar fellowships from another funder, will have held a PhD or an equivalent degree for 9–15 years at the time of application.
Firstly, you'll need to register your intention to submit an application for this grant and then complete your registration online via HRC Gateway. After registration, you'll need to submit a full application online via HRC Gateway using the templates provided below. The final step is to send a hardcopy of your full application to the HRC.
