Our knowledge translation grants are available for dissemination of research that key stakeholders (for example, iwi, community, health providers, Ministry of Health, Te Puni Kōkiri) have identified as important for future use, including policy and health service development. Up to $5,000 is available.

For the purposes of these grants, dissemination can include taking specified information from the research and making a publication that is better suited to the needs of an intended audience. It can also include a hui, publication of a report or book, and can focus on specific elements aimed at particular iwi/age or gender groups and/or at a particular health area (for example, nutrition, cultural safety guidelines for a specific health provider centre, customary healing practices of a specified hapū or iwi).

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible to apply for a knowledge translation grant, you'll need to be a New Zealand citizen or hold residency in New Zealand, and be of Māori descent.

Application process

Firstly, you'll need to register your intention to submit an application for this grant and then complete your registration online via HRC Gateway. After registration, you'll need to submit a full application online via HRC Gateway using the templates provided below.
